Who Leads the Church? - Authority in the Church

Authority. We recoil at the word, especially in our culture. But a rejection of all authority is also a rejection of God's authority. We must aim to reject bad authority, submit to good authority, and step into authority conferred to us by God. As a church we need to understand the authority God has given the congregation and the offices of elder and deacon, and we must exercise that authority under the authority of Jesus, who is the head of the church.
